Green Street Professional Building, LLC owns the Federalist style red brick building located at 909 East Green Street. The building is on the North side of Green Street and towards the East of the Union Bank Building located at 70 South Lake Avenue. Phillips & Company, a CPA firm, and Downstream Exchange Company, an accommodator in 1031 exchanges, both owned by Tony, as well as 8 attorneys are tenants in the building.
70 South Lake changed and added some new signage that made it easier for everyone to locate their building and parking lot. It occurred to Tony that once anyone saw the address on the front of his building they would have already passed the entrance to the parking lot and they would have to circle the block to enter the parking lot. While the signage on 70 South Lake was functional and attractive, it just wouldn't look right on a Federalist style red brick building.
Since the front of the building had bronze signs for all of the tenants, it was decided that a large bronze sign with the 909 East Green Street address of the building would be appropriate. Once the sign was attached to the building, all the tenants and their clients agree that it is easier to locate the parking lot for the building and that the sign complements the style of the building.
Tony is hopeful that his small scale change in signage will inspire other owners of small buildings in the South Lake Business district to make their buildings more attractive, as did the large scale signage changes near his building. If everyone works at making the South Lake Business district more visually attractive, it will be attractive and pleasant place for everyone to visit.
