2010 CENSUS - HOW YOU CAN HELP 10 Minutes, 10 Questions, 10 Years of Benefits
To raise awareness of the 2010 Census, Pasadena businesses are encouraged to participate in the following events:
Census For Businesses
Held on Thursday, March 25th, Pasadena employers encourage their employees to take a few moments out of the day to fill out the Census questionnaire and mail it back by Census Day, which is April 1, 2010.
Census Hour
Aptly named the "Census Hour" for Friday, March 26th, businesses that wish to participate in this event may offer a 10% meal or beverage discount, or a "numbers" or "census" inspired cocktail, that will assist with creating awareness of the Census 2010.
Why are we asking for your help?
The City of Pasadena 2010 Census Complete Count Committee is looking to ensure that all Pasadena residents are counted. Why should this be a concern for businesses? By having a complete count, Pasadena can better position itself for government funding for critical community and economic development services. Additionally, businesses use demographic and economic census data to locate retail stores, new housing and other facilities.
