On Saturday, July 15, the South Lake Business Association, co-sponsored by Pasadena Towers, kicks off the summer with the Rooftop Cinema Series on South Lake with a screening of "Fast & Furious 6". On Saturday, August 12, the Series continues with a screening of "Top Gun", co-sponsored by Corporate Center Pasadena.
The South Lake Business Association's monthly newsletter is a source of information and news for business and property owners within the South Lake Avenue Business District, the City of Pasadena, and residential communities. We are currently accepting submissions for the August 2017 newsletter. FIREWORKS ILLEGAL IN PASADENA!
Got fireworks in Pasadena? If so, you might find yourself making an appearance in court as all fireworks are illegal to sell, use or possess in Pasadena. The City maintains a Zero Tolerance enforcement policy for fireworks and Pasadena's police and firefighters are teaming up for special enforcement patrols against fireworks. Violators are subject to arrest; having their vehicles impounded; up to one year in jail and fines up to $50,000.
Help keep all of us, our children, homes and property safe from illegal fireworks. If You See Something, Say Something! Call Pasadena Police at (626) 744-4241 to report illegal fireworks and other suspicious activities. Residents may also use the City's smart phone app, available at www.cityofpasadena.net/citizen-service-center to report illegal fireworks.

MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE
On July 1, the City of Pasadena, Los Angeles and LA County's minimum wage will increase. In addition, the city's paid sick leave policy will apply to ALL employers. Below is a breakdown of changes that could be coming your way as well as resources to help.
The local minimum wage will go to:
- Increases to $12 for employers with 26 or more employees
- Increases to $10.50 for employers with 25 or fewer employees
