Business Resources:
- LA County DEO Economic Opportunity Grants: Phase 1 Microbusiness grants are open now and close 2/23 and Phase 2 Small Business & Nonprofit grants open on 2/23. The grant application is somewhat involved and business owners may need extra technical assistance with applications. The LA County DEO team has offered so do a special “train the trainer” session for Pasadena organizations working with businesses to help those businesses get their applications in.
- Ascend Los Angeles: Applications due 2/17. LISC LA’s supplier diversity program for small businesses in construction and professional services is free and will provide businesses with capital access, management education, and support to win contracts. In the past couple of years, the program has had a lot of success with businesses winning a total of $58M in contracts won. The next and last info session is on 2/16 at 5pm.
- EmployABILITY Business Grant: The CA Department of Rehabilitation’s EmployABILITY grant offers small- and medium sized businesses in California grants from $20,000–$200,000 to grow their business and create job opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
